Phulchowki Hiking is the famous short trekking route near to Kathmandu valley famous for nature walk.
(2762m, 1200m higher than Godavari – four hours hike and three hours descend)
After half an hour drive to Godavari, you can hike up, little uncomfortable but the reward is incredible and awesome. This hill boasts breathtaking views of the entire Valley with a Himalayan panorama which, on a clear day, stretches from Dhaulagiri in the west to Everest and Kanchanjunga in the east.
Jungle covers more of the mountain slopes and provides a habitat for deer and some other wild animals. The place is famous for its flowers – indeed, Phul Chowki means – land of flower- and you pass through wide rhododendron tracts on you’re your way to uphill as well as orchids and a host of other wild flowers, most of which bloom from March-April. The place is accessed by car as well which takes nearly one hour. But there is much worth to go on hiking through footpaths which makes an amazing trip. Such a hiking trip can be started at early in the morning so that your trip return back to Godavari within daylight hours.
Day 1 Drive to Godavari, hike to Phulchowki
Morning at 6:30 am drive an hour to Godavari and hike to the hill, explore around couple of hours and return back to Kathmandu.
