Itinerary Details

Day 01 Arrive Delhi & transfer to hotel

Day 02 Delhi – Leh , transfer to hotel and afternoon Leh sightseeing

Day 3: Leh-Likir- Yangthang  Trek 4-5 hrs
Morning after an early breakfast pack up and drive to Likir village approx 55 kms west of Leh. Arrive Likir in 2:30 hrs. and meet the horsemen at the trek head. Start the first day of the Sham Valley Trek upto Yangthang passing through Likir stream (tokpo), and overcoming two small passes i.e. Phobe la (3580 mt.) and Chagtsela (3600 Mt.). Arrive Yangthang by later in the afternoon. Packed lunch for the day.  Evening free, if desired you can explore the village. Dinner & overnight stay in tents.  

Day 4: Yangthang (escursion trek to rizong monastery,  Trek 3-4 hrs)
Fullday excursion trek to Rizong monastery which is down the valley of Yangthang village, Rizong is a very beautiful monastery and has a big nunnery. Pack lucnh on the day, trek back to Yangthang village and camp for overnight.  

Day 5: Yangthang - Hemis shukpachan , Trek 4-5 hrs
After breakfast at around 6:45 am, begin the next day of the trek to Hemis Shukpachen , a village known for Ceder trees which are used in religious prayers. Trek along the mountain valleys, and enroute you will come across the highest pass on the route i.e. Tsermanchen La (3750 Mt. ). Arrive Hemis Shukpachen by afternoon and set up the camp.  Pecked lunch for the day. Explore the village in the evening. Dinner & overnight stay in tents.  

Day 6: Hemis - Ang - Tingmosgang (Trek 5-6 hrs)  
After breakfast at around the same time, pack up for the last day of the trek to Tingmosgang, the capital of western Ladakh during 17th century. Trek through the last  pass on the route , Mebtak la (3700 mt) and though a down hill valley along the Ang stream (tokpo), arrive at Tingmosgang village, both Ang and Tingmosgang villages are connected along the stream. Camp overnight in the village. If desired members can trek up to the overlooking hill to visit the Tingmosgang monastery which enshrines a highly revered statue of  Avalokitsehwara "Chenrasig".

Day 7: Tingmosgang - Alchi - Leh , Drive 95 km
Morning drive back to Leh 95 km / 3-4 hrs, enroute visit the 1000 year old miniature paintings of Alchi monastery considered one of the best in the Himalayan region of Buddhist paintings. Arrive Leh and free at leisure. Overnight at the Hotel. 

Day 08 Leh-Delhi

Day 09 Departure

Transfer airport for flight back home.
