TAAN urges all to participate in CA polls

Trekking Agencies' Association of Nepal (TAAN) has urged all its member agents to postpone their trekking programs as far as possible during the Constituent Assembly (CA) polls and actively participate in the historic occasion.

Issuing a press statement, TAAN said that all Nepalese should cherish this historic occasion for ever as the day of gaining true sovereignty. 'It is a historic occasion made possible by people's thrust for change. We all need to be alert that only those people or parties that can truly reflect people's wishes can bring about the true change,' the press release reads. TAAN has also asked to denounce the corrupt and status-quoits groups that tried to strengthen their rule by misusing national resources and by killing and terrorizing people. 'The rulers may use their wealth and resources to thwart this historic occasion. We should not let them succeed,' the release reads.

TAAN has also asked the Election Commission of Nepal (ECN) to make necessary arrangements so that trekking professionals can cast their votes under the Proportionate System from the election constituency that they have reached by showing their identification cards. TAAN also asked ECN to allow unhindered movement vehicles throughout the country on the poll day.
