NEPAL: General Information

Visa is required to enter Nepal.One who would like to visit Nepal less or equal with 3 days no need visa.One who can get a visa at Nepalese Embassy or consulate or at the airport upon arrival except Chinese.Children below 10 years do not to pay any visa fee.Two passport sized photographs are mandatory for visa on arrival.

Free visa for tourists of SAARC countries & people’s republic of China.

Visa fee
Upto 15 days with multiple entry is USD  25
Upto 30 days  with multiple entry is USD 40
Upto 100 days with multiple entry is USD 100
Tourist visa can be extended by paying USD 2 per day.Likewise,multiple entry facility can be obtained only for the extension period by additional USD 20 and visa fee for the extended period.Similarly,tourists can renew their visa by paying USD 3 on the regular visa extension fee.
Single entry: US$ 30 for 60 Days

Multiple Entry: US$ 50 + US$ 30

Visa fee will be extended subsequently for 30 days upon payment of US$ 30 for a maximum period of 150 Days in a visa year (Jan-Dec).

Airport tax
Nepal Rupees 1356 per person for departure to SAARC(South Asean)countries and NRS 1695 per person for departure to other international destinations.For domestic flights those flying within Nepal are required to pay NRS 170 per person.

Trek Permit Information
Trekking permit is not essential for the general trekking areas such as the Everest,Annapurna,The Langtang and Rara.Trekking permit should be obtained for the following places:

A trekking permit is a must to visit restricted areas mentioned below.To visit normal trekking areas,no permission is required.The following restricted areas are opened for group trekking.Trekking permit will not be issued to individual trekkers for such areas.The areas & required fees are as follows:

1.Areas for lower Dolpa
For the first 4 weeks per week per person US$ 10
After 4 weeks per week per person US$ 20

2. Kanchanjunga Region -
Areas of Olangchunggola,Lelep,Papung and Yamphudin Village Development Committee.
Makalu Region - Areas of Kimathanka,Chepuwa,Hatiya & Pawakhola Village Development Committee
Everest Region - All north-west area way from Thame to Nangpala of Namche Village Development Committee.
For the first four weeks per week per person USD 10
After 4 weeks per week per person USD 20

3. Rasuwa District -
Thamun and Tingure per week person USD 10

4. Manang District -
Areas of Narphu and Nothern of Tilicho Village of Thochhe Village Development Committee.
Gorkha District -Manaslu Area Humla District- Areas of Limi Muchu Village Development Committee and area way to Tibet via Tangkhola of Darma Village Development Committe For September to November per week per person USD 90
December to August per week per person USD 75

In Trek permit & In general information:
Trek permit for Upper Dolpo & Upper Mustang
USD 500 or equivalent foreign currency for first 10 days and USD 50 per additional extra day.
Trekking in Manaslu Region:
USD 70 for a week and USD 10 per person for extra day during September to November
USD 50 for a week and USD 7 per person for extra day during  December to August
Permit fee for Humla(Simikot-Yari)
USD 50 for a week and USD 7 per person for extra day

Note: To get a group trekking permit an application form should be submitted through registered trekking agency of Nepal.
